The Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as the “Patroness of the Carmelite Order”. The first Carmelites were Christian hermits living on Mt. Carmel in the Holy Land. On Jul 16, 1251, Our Lady appeared to Saint Simon Stock, a Carmelite, and made the Scapular the sign of her protection.

Celebrate the Feast

Participate in a daily Novena (9 days). Copies of the Novena are on the tables in the back of the church. The Novena begins on Thu, Jul 7 - Fri, Jul 15.

Scapular Investitures will be at the weekend mases Jul 13/14 and on the feast day, Tue, Jul 16.
